Allow approximately 2 hours from Queenstown Airport to Maunga Tipu, depending on weather, traffic, road conditions and sight seeing stops. Your journey takes you through some of South Island’s most beautiful scenery.

Queenstown Airport → Maunga Tipu

1. From Queenstown Airport, follow State Highway 6 (SH6) south towards Invercargill.

Continue south alongside Lake Wakatipu, travelling through:

Kingston → Garston → Athol → Five Rivers

2. At Five Rivers, turn right onto State Highway 97 (SH97) following signs towards Te Anau / Milford Sound. Continue to Mossburn

3. At Mossburn, turn right onto State Highway 94 (SH94) towards Te Anau/Milford Sound.

Continue on State Highway 94 for approximately 42.9 km. (Note you are turning before Te Anau and do not go into Te Anau)

4. Turn LEFT onto Hillside-Manapouri Road, following signs for Manapouri. Continue for 8.0 km. (Note you are turning into Riverslea Road before Manapouri)

5. Turn LEFT onto Riverslea Road (sign posted Maunga Tipu). Continue for 1.3 km

6. Turn up driveway marked 125B- Maunga Tipu

Stop at “Stop” sign up driveway and lift flap on little black box and push green button to open gates and drive up driveway and park where sign shows Guest Parking.
